Crewe Alexander 2 - 3 Yeovil Town
Reporter: Edward Dyer - Lee Vilenski- Templecombe-Somerset.
Looking at the predicted formations before the game, I was surprised to see someone who I had never seen play, come out of the tunnel upfront with Lee Morris. His name is Leon Best, after 9 minutes I didn't mind one bit though, as he netted twice in 3 minutes. Crewe gave the ball away in defence, it fell to Lee Morris, he was 40 Yards out realised that Patience should become the new better part of Vallour, as he dummied and gave a lofted pass to Leon Best. Leon controled it, and scored from 25+ yards out.

The 318 travelling supporters including myself were having a great time of it, shouts of when Yeovil Sucessfully knocked them out of the FA cup twice in a row when they were in the confrence were ringing. Three minutes Later he had scored again. Martin Brittin this time crossed in and he scored his fifth goal of the season with a header. One wierd fact from this is that even with there high leagu place, no other player has scored twice in one match for them yet. At Half time the 2-0 lead was welcomed open handedly. A couple of chances to the home side, but the better team put the game eyond doubt(Or so we thought) on 70 minutes with in Form striker Lee Morris netting. The goal was a brilliant finnish from the ex-derby man, but Leon Best got an assist for the goal. Crewe got one back on '77 minutes. Maynard finding the net after a Van Persie-est run. With just 10 minutes remaning, Crewe set up the barnstaking finnish that was never on the cards, a powerful strike from close range, gave Roberts the goal. Crewe never really got a chance to get a point, and it was all they could do to stop Leon Best's hat-trick from a header in the final minute of Stoppe time. Our search for a play-off place continues!

Match: Elverum-Mjøndalen 3-2 AET - League 3 Play-off (Norway)
Reporter: Marius Dahl

Elverum is still a league 4-team in the next season after the second leg of the play-off today. After loosing 2-1 away needed Elverum a victory today.
The game was between Mjøndalen and Elverum and WHAT A GAME it was.
Mjøndalen took the lead early. A weak head ended up in the net and the away-fans started to celebrate. But they didnt found their cheers back before the equalise was there. A nice shot by Daniel Saastad touched a defender and the important 1-1 goal became the last before the halftime.
Elverum was very lucky in the second half and Mjøndalen had to shots in the bar.
But then-after an hour-got a Elverum player the red card. He missed on the ball when he should play it, and Mjøndalen came alone with our keeper. Knezevic, wich is his name, stopped him, and the refree couldnt do anything else than give him the red one.
However took Elverum over the game and gave everything for the 2-1 goal. And it came-at the stoppich time. Oh, it was so **** good to see the ball roll down in the right corner. 2-1 Ment extra time!
Mjøndalen scored at the begging of the extra time-with a hand. It was unfair. Hands. The hand of God maybe, but still a hand. 2-2 And Elverum needed two goals again.
Erik Røsvik gave the homesupporters a hope with his goal alone with the Mjøndalen-keeper after 106 minutes. 3-2. What an exiting game. But it was very cold. I jumped up and down in the last five minutes because it was so exiting and so cold, lol.
But the 4-2 goal never came and Elverum is still a league 4 team... =(
Btw: Chelsea FCs talent-scout in Norway saw the game, because of the talent Vegar Eggen Hedenstad. The Chelsea-scout in Norway living in Hamar, so it wasnt so far away.
I cant believe it if Hedenstad goes to Chelsea...

Match: HamKam v Rosenborg - Norway Tippeligaen (football)
Reporter: Marius Dahl
The 23rd matchday of Tippeligaen 2006 ended up in Hamar with HamarKameratene vs Rosenborg. Rosenborg had 8 victories on
row before the game. The last time they lost was in the homegame
against this HamKam-team. 3-0!
Rosenborg leaded the league with two points after SK Branns 2-0 loss againt Lyn.
Over 8.000 people went to the match, and with only 4.000 seets, it became very narrow-especally in the Rosenborg-part of the stadium. So then 500 supporters had to see the game from the property behind one goal...
The first half wasnt that good. Rosenborg was the best team, but they had few chances. Roman Kienast had the biggest for HamKam, and he should scored there.
HamKam should also had a penalty when the swede Dorsin hansed on a shot. The refree didnt see it, but 7.000 HamKam-supporters did.
But minutes later they got a penalty. And the austrian Roman Kienast scored. He shot to the left, and the keeper was close to take it. 1-0 after 37 minutes.
8 Minutes out in the second half could I and the other Rosenborg-supporters start to celebrate. Rosenborg stole the ball at the middle and Jan Gunnar Solli (the worst player on the ground tonight) ended the beautiful attack with a goal. 1-1.
It could also been 1-2, but the HamKam-keeper became the best player tonight.
RBKs best chance came after 75 minutes when the talent Jamtfall was through, but when he should shot, he missed on the ball! The HamKam-defender stole the ball, but Jamtfall took the ball back and gave it to Skjelbred who missed from five meters.
HamKam got the last chance after 90 minutes, after a beautiful shot from Ringberg, but Lars Hirchfeld saved. Close 2-1.
The game ended 1-1, and Rosenborg is now 3 points in front of SK Brann. RBK shall play against Brann in the next game. What a game it will be.
HamKam fights for dont relegating after the season. They are now two points from the play-off, and three points from the relegation-zone. Good luck to them ;-)
Match: Hampshire v Glamorgan (cricket; Pro40 play-off, Rose Bowl)
Reporter: Chris Eastwood
Hampshire thrashed Glamorgan by 151 runs to get promoted into the first division of the Pro40.
Hampshire batted first and totalled 265-9 - with 158 of those runs coming from Chris Benham - who was later named Man-of-the-Match. He was aided by Brown's 29, Crawley's 21 and Mascarenhas' 30.
Glamorgan batted poorly, collapsing at one stage to 89-9. Opening batsman Grant fell first ball, and Harrison - who normally bats at No. 11 - top scoring with 28. AP Davies provided some resistance at the end, but the result was never in doubt.
Match: Sydney FC v Central Coast Mariners, Hyundai A-League (Round 1)
Reporter: Hughgeta (Australia)

Mark Milligan (Sydney) Holds Off Andre Gumprecht (Central Coast)
Sydney FC, the early favorites for the competition, were determined to start the season well under new coach Terry Butcher. Butcher, the former English international, had come to Sydney over the winter with the single goal: to retain their title. Ironically, their Sydney's first opponents would be the Central Coast Mariners, whom they defeated 1-0 in the Grand Final back in March.
The Mariners, who had new signings Tony Vidmar, Vuko Tamsevic and Jamie McMaster all starting, had come out of a pre-season cup final loss full of confidence. Sydney started their signings Alex Brosque and Nick Topor-Stanley, as well as co-captain Dwight Yorke, who had not played a match since the World Cup.
Yorke and Sydney's lack of fitness showed from the kick-off, as Central Coast dominated through a strong midlfield of Andre Gumprecht, Noel Spencer and Tomasevic. They held all the early possession, while Sydney struggled to move the ball to their lone striker Sasho Petrovski. Central Coast created the first chance, as a free kick was missed by everyone, and Adam Kwasnik popped up at the far post. His header, which was on target, was superbly saved by Clint Bolton, whose contribution turned out to be decisive. Topor-Stanley had a free header for Sydney, but this proved wasteful.
The half-time break was much needed by Sydney, as they came out with some new found confidence. It wasn't long before a (seemingly) careless punt up the field from Alvin Ceccoli was brought down by Petrovski. Petrovski laid it off to a steaming Iain Fyfe, who's brilliant low drive sent it past Mariners' keeper Danny Vukovic, with interest.
The goal did not stop Sydney coming forward as they dominated the second half. They brought on striker David Zdrilic, and Brosque soon found his feet, and in turn, plenty of space. David Carney shot wide from a good chance, as did mark Mark Milligan. But it was left to keeper Bolton to ensure the three points as he pulled off a string of late saves to deny the Mariners.
After a cross was driven across goal by Tomasevic, Kwasnik was left waiting at the far post, but only this time his finish let him down. Keeping this in mind, Bolton's save was top quality as he palmed down the shot before it was cleared off the line. This miss ensured it was Sydney's night.
Sydney paid due respect to 'The Cove' before heading back into the dressing rooms of Aussie Stadium, while the Mariners were left to lament missed opportunities. Nevertheless, it is a long season, and this game gave no clues as to who could possibly be the early pace-setters in 'Version 2' of the Australian A-League.
Match: Rosenborg v Wigan Athletic (friendly)
Reporter: Marius Dahl, Norway.
Wigan was in Trondheim on wedensday to play against Rosenborg BK.
The game was not fun at all, and Wigan could leave Trondheim with a
2-1-victory. The Premier League-team had a 1-0-lead after the first half.
David Connoly scored. Rosenborg was the best team, but Wigan scored
the goals and Lee McCulloch gave Wigan 2-0.
Rosenborg got a penalty 10 minuts from time, and Karim Essediri gave
the match new tension.
Rosenborgs young players was really fast and good in the second half,
but english football is still better than norwegian and Wigan won 2-1.
Match: Rosenborg-Vålerenga 3-2
Reporter: Marius Dahl, Norway
After three loss on row for Vålerenga, was the norwegian champions from 2005 ready to
fight for points in Trondheim saturday night. This game had Vålerenga won
the three last times but now it was Rosenborgs turn, in a dramatic rivaly-game
who started the 16th round of Tippeligaen 2006.
Vålerenga started well and had some big chances the first quarter, but their forwards
missed. So did not Steffen Iversen and Rosenborg was in the lead.
And five minuts from the end of the first half got Rosenborg a freekick in a
dangerous possition. The swede Micke Dorsin scored a beauty and Rosenborg
could leave the first half with a 2-0 lead.
In the second half took Vålerenga over and a 16 year old boy scored for the Oslo-
team after 75 minuts. 2-1. 80 minuts were played when Vidar Riseth hansed in front of the goal.
Penalty, and a yellow card for Riseth. No end of the dramatic. Christian Grindheim did
nothing wrong and Vålerenga eculasied.
Then was everbody quiet on Lerkendal. But Vidar Riseth wouldnt be the zero this
saturday. He wanted to be the hero. And so happend: Two minuts later he scored
after a good Rosenborg-attack. Rosenborg is back in possition...

Match: Rosenborg 2 Raufoss 1 AET - Norweigan Cup
Reporter: Marius Dahl, Trondheim
Rosenborg thought they was going to play an easy game against Raufoss in the third round of the norwegian cup, but the League 2-team gave Rosenborg match in 120 minuts. It started well for Rosenborg; Steffen Iversen used his head to give Rosenborg the lead, after only 8 minuts. Raufoss eculaised early in the second half and the game ended 1-1 and went to extra time, even though: Rosenborg shot twice times in the post. One minute from a penalty shooutout scored the 19 years old Per Ciljan Skjelbred and then are Rosenborg ready for the round of 16.

Match: Surrey beat Hampshire by 10 runs. Twenty20 Cup: South Group, Rose Bowl (Southampton, UK) (cricket)
Reporter: Chris Eastwood - Southampton, UK.
Match Report: Surrey recovered from 54-5 to beat rivals Hampshire by 10 runs. Surrey won the toss and decided to have a bat, with both teams needing a win to keep their Twenty20 Cup hopes alive.
Hampshire started off brilliantly, dismissing two of Surrey's batsmen - leaving them at 2-2 at the end of the first over. On-form Benning was out for a duck (c Thornely b Tremlett) with Mark Ramprakash following shortly (c Pothas b Taylor), scoring 1 run. A maiden the following over from Billy Taylor kept the score the same. Surrey batted slowly, reaching 50 in the 10th over. Things started to look bad as they collapsed to 54-5, with stand-in captain Rikki Clarke dismissed for 7. Before hand, Brown was out for 28 (c Carberry b Udal for 28) and Batty for 12 (b Thornely). Azhar Mahmood came to the crease and struck 65*, with Newman getting 20*. Surrey recovered from 54-5 to post a modest score of 141.
In reply, Hampshire started off the brighter, although they lost a wicket in the first over. Previously on-form batsman Michael Carberry scored just one run (b A.Mahmood). Young Mitchell Stokes batted well, scoring 28 before being bowled out by Dernbach. In the 5th over Dominic Thornley could only manage 11 (c Batty b Clarke). Surrey spinner Nayan Doshi came into the attack shortly later, picking up four wickets. The victims were Greg Lamb (30), Mascarenhas (0), Benham (38) and Tremlett (1). Shaun Udal slipped up on the wicket handing Surrey an easy run out. He was out for 7.
With Hampshire needing 10 off the final over, Billy Taylor was ran out for 0 by Mark Ramprakash - who took off his shirt and ran around the pitch - putting his finger to the crowd after being booed. Before hand he stopped the ball from going for a four but had his foot on the boundary, but didn't signal it to the umpire. The Rose Bowl crowd were furious but were later silenced. After the game injured captain Mark Butcher said "it was two foot over the line".
Surrey now have 6 points but are behind Kent (10), Sussex (8) and Essex (8). Middlesex still have no points at the bottom of the table with Hampshire second-from-bottom with 4. It is now very hard to qualify for the Hawks...
Match:HamKam v Molde - Tippeligaen (soccer)
Reporter: Marius Dahl - Norway

The acters from Molde took all points:
HamKam couldnt copy the surprising game in Trondheim, against
Rosenborg were they won 3-0.
Because Senegaler Pape Patè Diouf became the diffirent between HamKam
and Molde in the 11th matchday in Tippeligaen 2006.
With 6.122 people on Briskeby took HamKam the lead after a quarter.
Molde had few chances in the first half but after 29 minuts came the exulaiser
for the blue team who will play in the next UEFA-cup season.
Molde was totaly best in the second half, with help from the refree who became
very unpopular in Hamar this evening. And 17 minuts from time came Moldes
winner-goal, from the matchvinner Diouf. In the last quarter played Molde like
acters and getn many wrong freekicks from the referee.
Match: St. Joseph's 102 def. Sydney Boys High 3 [Rugby Union]
Reporter: hughgeta - Sydney, Australia
Match Report:
The GPS (Great Public Schools) Rugby competition is considered very prestigous in Sydney, and Australian Rugby. It is only one step down from the Sydney Grade competition (and arguably of equal standard). Many of these players go quickly into Super 14, and onto International level.
Knowing This, Sydney High have never been strong in terms of their sporting calibre. Unlike other schools in the GPS, they give kids majoritively academic scholorships (after all, what is a school for), and don't look for bragging rights when it comes to the sporting fields.
Joey's, on the other hand, are very traditionally based, and are the reigning national schoolboy rugby champions. So there was no doubting the result of this game, even before it started.
The game, played at Joey's sporting fields in Hunter's Hill, was attended by more than 2000 people, the majority of which were Joey's school attendees (it is compulsory for them to go). The small grandstand was a sea of blue school uniforms as Joeys took the field in their colours of maroon and blue. Sydney, wearing white and brown, started quite respectable; they kept Joey's to 5-0 for some time, and also 12-0 after about 15 minutes.
But as the minutes wore on, Joey's started to run rampant. The difference between the teams, physically and technically, was huge. Joey's winger was probably as big as Sydney's largest forward, while Joey's No. 1 was so large, that Sydney could hardly contain him all afternoon. Most plays were orchestrated by flyhalf Curtly Beale, who already has a contract with the NSW Waratahs. Sydney, taking advantage of a rare penalty, opted for a kick at goal in the first half, and, backed by a strong wind, kicked a very good goal for what would turn out to be their only points of the match. It was 43-3 at half-time.
Unbelievably, the home side increased their scoring rate in the second half. Most tries would go like this: Ruck on one side of the park, ball removed, two passes wide, line break, and ending in a try. The only disparity in the plays was the odd inside ball or dummy, which was taken with raptuous applause. Joey's were very well-trained, their passes bullet like, and they made few errors all match.
The one-sideness of the affair meant that there was a severe lack of variation in the game. The only interesting points was when the crowd would start one of their unrecognisable, drone-like chants, and also when Sydney's hooker got tackled extremely soulidly, so much so that he had to leave the field.
In the last 5/10 minutes the referee awarded back to back penalties to Sydney, probably out of sympathy, and they found themselves on the attack. An excellent maul off the lineout got Sydney to the line, but they could not force a try. They went the blindside the next play, but the winger was pushed into touch.
With the score at 95-3 with the final whistle blown, Joey's got the ball, broke away, and a few rucks later, reached the century, which was the only battle keeping the crowd enthralled. The game finished 102-3, which proves the gap in skill level by both teams.
